Oslo -day 1 - Rain!

Already on the first day I learned what local shower "lokale Schauer" really means. In Oslo, it is raining on one street and on the next not. It is a bit funny, but also strange to me. So,  the Norwegians are prepared with a rain jacket;every day. Although most of the showers didn't last long, you will get wet.
Here, you see an overview over Oslo which I took from the top of the Vigelandsparken.

On the first day we visited some museums because the weather was not so nice. At this point I have to recommend the OSLO PASS.You can easiliy buy it with your smartphone and you get a QR-code. (Be sure to validate it every day!) All transportation in the city, also ferries, and most of the museums are included. Be aware, you have to update your QR-code every day before you go out.
We had an Appartement in Grunerlokka, which is a nice and trendy quarter with parcs, restaurants, bars and little boutiques.
In Oslo, you can use the tram, the metro, the bus or the ferries to get where you want.
I NEVER visited so many museums during a trip.Usually I walk around and have a look at the surroundings. But, because of the weather and also because Oslo has sooooo many museums, it was a good idea.
We walked to opera which is rather new, built in 2008.

We took the ferry to Bydgoy and visit the Fram and the Kon-Tiki-Museum.

The Fram was a ship designed to withstand to enormous forces of packice of the polar regions. Here the original Fram is the center of the museum. You walk around and get all the information about Antarctica and Arctic. Finally, you can also go inside the Fram.

The Kon-Tiki was a float which was built in the fifties to prove the hypothesis how the inhabitants of the Easter-island came there.

The fortress is open till 9pm.You have a great view over the harbour. Also a traditional soldier/security is walking around.

The city hall of Oslo is in the middle of the harbour and you can see it already from far away because of the two towers.
Since Norway is expensive, we prepared our own dinner in the apartment.  Also, it very hard to find a real norwegian restaurant in Oslo.
